Building Capital Campaign Committee: “Building Greenwood Together”
2006 Report
Mission: To assist the Board of Trustee’s and finance to raise the necessary funds for Building and Capital Improvement expense to complete repairs of our building deferred maintenance. The different approach to help us reach our expected goal will be through Greenwood congregation, friends and community working with Building Greenwood Together Capital Campaign Committee to experience our faith in God through each of us. ” With God all things are possible”.
This committee continues to identify ways to raise funds to preserve our Church Historical Building. Greenwood Church is a Beacon of light to provide hope in the Dorchester community. Let’s praise and glorify God for allowing us to come this far by faith, in our effort to raise funds from our generous congregation, donors and family. The goal is to raise $150,000 in 3 years. This is a three-year campaign started November 2005 through November 2008. The first anniversary November 2006 we raise over $30,000 from congregation pledges, fundraiser and monetary donation from our Sudbury sisters and brothers.
Hymn #558 “We are the Church” is our inspirational hymn that confirms that we are all a part of this church body together celebrating our blessings. The committee is blessed with faithful members who are supporting the work of the church with their gift and talents. If God is for us, who can be against us? The building committee efforts and fundraiser will assist with church repairs.
The history of Greenwood is a true legacy we must embrace. The vision is fulfilling all we need to do is to pray and embrace the gifts. This church is an inheritance from our forefathers who love and work hard to make what is today Greenwood Memorial UMC.
